Welcome friends of Newtown
We have eeked out this spot on the web for a meeting place of Connecticut 3D Modelers.
This site is hosted by the Blue Moon Modelers of Newtown, CT
We are a group of proud residents dedicated to documenting and creating a
engaging 3d experience of our Connecticut towns within Google earth.
It's time to, once again, come out and show your civic pride.
The 2012 Google Model Your Town Competition has been announced. I hope everyone used the next few weeks to put together modeling teams.
It's only a few weeks to Thanksgiving so getting training space at the CH Booth library will be a challenge until after Christmas.
I had a great time demonstrating the Google tools useful for building creation in preparation for the 2010 contest.
It's time to "do it again" so we have worked out arrangements with a local Coffee House owner to start free classes in Nov-Dec 2011
The newest competition is the "2012 Google Model Your Town Competition" currently running on this Google Sites destination.
We will plan more meet & greet for "The Main Event" right through to the contest deadline, March 1, 2012.
The first location has been secured at Hideaway Cafe, 127 South Main street, Newtown CT. Time and date to be determined.
Keep coming back. The Long/Lat for the Cafe is located @ 41.388341, -73.286342 and all are welcome.
"The Main Event" will give us an opportunity to form teams and model many buildings on "Main st. btwn Church Hill rd and Mile Hill South.
Your team may prefer another part of Newtown to model but I think creating the center of Newtown will require "all hand on deck" to win.
I look forward to getting Newtown "on the map" once again. Keep comin' back for more info.
